THE NCDA ANNUAL EVENT is a gathering of the state's dance community which includes master classes, seminars, discussions and performances presented by North Carolina artists, administrators, educators and advocates. Also held during the Annual Event are NCDA's membership meeting, scholarship auditions and the presentation of the NCDA Annual Award. Student and group discounts are available.
The 2010 Annual Event will be held at Elon University  in Elon, North Carolina on September 10-11, 2010. A PDF of the 2010 Annual Event brochure is available HERE.
Event Features
CLASSES  Over 25 different classes, including African Dance, Tap,  Improv, Ballet, Hip-Hop and more.  Classes available for all levels, from middle school age through professional, taught by talented teachers from across North Carolina.
NCDA CHOREOGRAPHERS SHOWCASE                                  Saturday, September 11th at 6pm. The 2010 NCDA Choreographers Showcase will feature professional choreographers from North Carolina, including new work by the 2010 Choreography Fellow, Autumn Mist Belk.
NCDA YOUTH & COLLEGE SHOWCASE
Friday, September 10th at 7pm. This Showcase will feature student choreographers and dancers from North Carolina.
 
NCDA INFORMAL SHOWING                                                       Saturday, September 11th at 10:45am - 12:15pm. The NCDA Informal Showing is a public showing of choreographic work at any stage of development. The performance will be followed by a moderated feedback session with the artists and audience. This showing is open to any NCDA member and is not adjudicated, but space is limited. To show work, sign up in advance on a first-come, first-service basis by contacting Bridget Kelly at bridget.b.kelly@gmail.com, with the approximate length of your work (10 minutes max; excerpts of longer works are welcome).
 
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING/LUNCHEON
Saturday, September 11th at 1pm. Please attend this very important meeting in which member of NCDA gather to vote on important issues and to hear of current dance news. Our luncheon keynote speaker this year is Jan Van Dyke of the NC Dance Festival.
 
NC DANCE PANEL
Saturday, September 11th at 2pm. The NC Dance Panel will feature panelists from the statewide dance community discussing the current state of dance in North Carolina.
 
RESOURCE CENTER
A resource center will be available where Companies, dance programs, camps, musicians and individuals may display and distribute information. T-shirts, accompanist tapes and CDs and resource material will be available for purchase.

The event will be held at the Center for the Arts, Elon University, Elon, NC 27244. LODGING Country Inn & Suites - Burlington. 3211 Wilson Dr, Burlington, NC 27215. Reservations must be made by August 20, 2010.
